Fashion Haul Saturdays

NOTE: I hade scheduled this to post yesterday! Don't know why it didn't work! (grrr)

Hello my lovelies. I'm trying to do theme posts to keep me on the blogging track. So, every Saturday, I will post every fashion item my shopaholic self bought each week. And I'm totally kidding guys about me being a shopaholic, I know how to control my spending. I would be lying though if I said I don't by at least one unnecessary item each week. Case in point:

Nixon The Time Teller Acetate Watch ($150 at Bloomingdale's)

I kinda just ordered this maybe an hour ago on online. Do I need it? No. I already have watches, but I must admit I don't have a waterproof one...so in that case maybe I did need it! See me trying to justify my purchase there? So sad. BUT this was my one and only fashion addict purchase this week. I'll make sure to take a picture of this bad boy and post it once it's on my small, fragile wrist.

Ciao my love bugs!

Mint Fever

When I was a toddler I went through this phase where I was obsessed with carrots. I would eat them every day as if they were my only source of life. I ate them so much the palms of my hands started to turn orange. Is this how Oompa Loompas were created?

Anyways, I’m facing a similar dilemma now in my (young) adult life. Except now it’s with mint. Not the mints you can eat, but the color! I’m on a mint craze. I know it’s one of the hot colors this season, but this is borderline unhealthy. If I find something in mint, I gotta have it. It just possesses this magical quality that can make the blandest object look ultra chic. Case in point:

Haha, no I’m just kidding. These will never be chic.
And if you actually thought they were for one split second, you need to reevaluate your life.

So for all you mint obsessed freaks like me, here’s some mintspiration for you:

The Longer the Better

I used to swear that maxi skirts were the ugliest things when they first made it back into stores a few years ago. Now, I embarrassingly admit that I'm kind of obsessed with them. Maybe it's because I've seen people wearing them in ways that make them look super chic, or maybe it's just because they're all over lookbook.nu. All I know is that I want one in every color of the rainbow (except for orange and yellow - those colors can go die). Look below for some cute ways to wear 'le maxi skirt'

Black Maxi. As you know, black is fab and goes with everything.
Pair with a plain tank top and then go crazy with colorful accessories and chunky shoes.

Orange You Happy to See Me?

Oh, why hello there. I know. My updates are practically nonexistent. No need to beat around the bush.

I promise to update with something fun and amazingly spectacular soon. But for now, I will share the super obnoxiously bright Michael Kors loafers I bought a week ago. Aren't they fab?

And literally a week later Michael Kors sent me their catalogue with their new collection. Touché Michael Kors. But I'm going to actually have the willpower this time to not spend all of my paycheck on your stuff. Not going to lie though, if I had money to throw away I would definitely spend $1000 on your gladiator sandals.

Guys, I Caved In

So remember that post on La Mer I did not too long ago? Remember when I said I was going to save my money and NOT purchase it because of my impending unemployment?

Well...good news! My internship was extended for another month! Whoohoo! Bad news: I caved in and bought the watch. I know. I have no self control. BUT. And this is a huge BUT, I got it at a discount for $82 instead of $110 because of a promo code! How awesome is that?! Seriously, add La Mer on Facebook because they always do giveaways/cool promos (I swear I'm not sponsoring them, I'm just trying to keep your wallet full. You're welcome.)

I didn't create my own watch, I ordered one from the collection...and it's absolutely adorable. I died a little when it arrived at the office today.

La Mer, You Can Have My Soul

First of all, a belated Happy New Year to my little spider monkeys all across the interweb! I have been so lazy on updating this blog, I apologize. I've just recently been bombarded with work at my internship and also spending most of my free time looking for a big girl job. Wish me luck!

Anyways, I would like to dedicate this post to my new obsession: La Mer. How have I not realized the  beauty of their watches before? La Mer specializes in watches and they have this amazing portion of their site where you can cuztomize and order your own watch. I. Am. In. Love. And this love is centered toward an aqua blue leather wrap watch. Behold, my creation:

And it's only $135...that, my friend, is an amazing deal for neverending happiness.

Obsession: Lace, Sequins, and Studs

I've realized something about my shopping behavior when I'm browsing for clothes. This past week I went to the mall. A lot. And every store I entered in, my focus automatically zoomed in on anything that either had sequins, lace, or studs - obviously not all three at once, that would be fashion overload. I have a (sick) obsession with sequins, lace, and studs. Throw a lace dress my way and I'll buy it, even knowing that I have three already that look practically the same. Don't even get me started on sequined shorts or studded heels!

I think all three styles kind of reflect different sides of my style. My style is kind of all over the place. A little bit of a multiple personality disorder of the wardrobe. Sometimes I feel like dressing girly and feminine, hence the lace. There are times that I feel like a diva and just want to glam it up, which is where the sequins come in. And then there are a couple of moments where I just want to be a bit of a rebel and spice up my outfit with something daring...and thats when my studs come in handy!

Of course, everything is good in moderation. I would never wear an overabundance of all three at once. But  while I'm still growing and developing my own style, I've noticed these pieces always make their way into my closet. Maybe I'm just a girly glamazon who sometimes has a tendency to want to be a rockstar? ;)

The Beauty Department

Ok, lets get this straight. I was never a fan of Laguna Beach or The Hills. I thought both series were ridiculous and obviously scripted (sorry to all of you who actually thought it was "real"). However, I have to admit that Lauren Conrad, who starred in both shows, knows a lot about fashion and style. Her style is very chic, boho, and girly. She knows how to dress classy and yet still be sexy.

Turns out that besides having her own book series and clothing line she also has her own beauty website. It's called The Beauty Department. Think of it as a useful fashion and make up how-to blog. I'm kind of obsessed with it. Check it out:

Feeling Stylish

Ah, I'm just loving my internship in Brasil this summer. I get to spend time with my family, get some experience in the marketing world, and get to just enjoy being out and about in the city. Malls, obvsiously, are one of the places I tend to visit the most. But this time I didn't just leave the mall with a lot less money in my wallet...no, this week I actually got my picture taken to be on a very well known fashion blog here in Brasil. Feeling pretty stylish (despite the fact that I didn't wash my hair that day!). Check it out!
